  5.         that have the .TXT file extension. Tell me the exact location
  6.         of just one of these files (hint: see MAP17).

  8.              ANSWER: There were three ways you could have found the
  9.                      answer:

  11.                      1. Doing an Archie search with the keyword "txt"
  12.                      2. Doing a Veronica search with the keyword "txt"
  13.                      3. Accesing a random ftp site and looking around for
  14.                      a "txt" file
  15.  
  16.              I hope you chose the first option :) BTW, I did not list
  17.              the answer because there are THOUSANDS of correct answers.

  20.      2. Rick Gates has a monthly competition called "The Internet Hunt."
  21.         The Hunt asks ten of the most contrived questions you have ever
  22.         seen, and the Hunt's participants have to find the answers using
  23.         nothing but the Internet (and they also have to show where they
  24.         found the answers).

  26.         Come to think of it, the Internet Hunt is a lot like this pop
  27.         quiz ... hmmmm ....

  29.         I have heard that Rick places the Hunt results on the CICNET Gopher
  30.         server (gopher.cic.net) in Michigan (U.S.)

  32.         I am interested in the Hunt results. In particular, I am interested
  33.         in May, 1994 results.

  47.      3. I just tried a Veronica search and I got an "Empty Menu" error
  48.         for a file that I *KNOW* exists. I should call my local Internet
  49.         service provider and complain, right? Explain your answer :)

  52.              ANSWER: NO! Your local Internet service provider is only
  53.                      responsible for the LOCAL part of your service. If
  54.                      you are having a problem accessing a distant file,
  55.                      there is a really good chance that the problem is
  56.                      at the distant site.

  58.                      Your provider has no control over distant sites, so
  59.                      calling them will not help you at all. Your best bet
  60.                      is to try your search later.
